The North Carolina Science Blogging Conference is this weekend in Chapel Hill. I had a lot of fun last year, but I’m a bit too busy now to go. I might be subconsciously regretting this decision, and feel that I’m missing out, because I had a dream last night that I showed up after all. I wasn’t registered, so I couldn’t go to any talks and apart from one person (who just made me hold their coat the whole time) everyone ignored me because I had said that I wouldn’t go. Don’t worry guys, I’m really not going!
I’ll keep an eye out on the various blogs and other internet outlets for updates, and will obviously be jealous of people who are there.
Also, in the dream I was staying at the Hilton (is there even one there?) and the room had a new electric water kettle but I had to assemble it myself. I had read about a water kettle before I went to bed, and had been thinking about luxury in general, so no crazy interpretations necessary.

Well, Eva, we’ll really miss you. It was a pleasure to meet you last year (I at least feel good that I offered you cash for the parking booth since you had trouble getting your Canadian ATM card to work here, so I hope I wasn’t the one making you hold my coat in the dream).
There actually is a Hilton near the meeting site but it’s not one of their more luxurious properties.
