Hey, There’s Science In This is a new book with essays about finding science in surprising places. There’s a chapter about the science behind a Dalí painting, the science of Stranger Things, science seen from a hiking trail and more. If that sounds vaguely familiar, that’s because some of the content of Hey, There’s Science In This originated right here on easternblot.net!
All chapters in the book started out as blog posts that I wrote between 2007 and 2023, some on this site and some elsewhere. However, they’ve all been heavily rewritten for this book and updated with new information. Some posts were combined, some have entirely new introductions and all of them were fact checked and rewritten so that together they form a nice collection of quirky science stories.
Whether it’s the science of scary music or the science of rubber ducks drifting off to sea, there’s bound to be something in Hey, There’s Science In This that piques your interest.
