This week we had our lab move to MaRS!”That’s quite a commute”, said a friend, but it turns out that MaRS is right at the subway station, rather than one planet over. (MaRS even has a blog!)

Moving a lab is a bit like moving house, but with more chemicals and better coordination. It’s also a bit like a divorce: we shared some equipment with labs on our previous floor, and had to figure out what belonged to whom long before we left.
On the bright side, after our lab move we now have shiny new benches, big windows, and (finally) desks!
Once we know where all our stuff is, we’re going to be so productive!
Old lab before move:
Same place, now all packed up:
New lab, still empty:
“If you don’t know where something goes, just put it on my bench”.…

Did you make it to the Pub Night in the lobby last night? $3 drinks, and yummy hors d’oeuvres!
No, I had a seminar until 5 and then I went home to sleep. Moving is exhausting! Also, we’re not integrated enough yet to know about pub nights and stuff!
You should get on the Tenant News email list because then you’ll always know what’s happening in the building (like the tenant coffee break next Friday Nov 10 at 10am).
Otherwise, MaRS events are posted on the website (unless it’s a Tenant-only event) and on the MaRStv screens at reception.
